A bill for an act
relating to transportation; authorizing deputy registrars to edit certain records in
the Minnesota Licensing and Registration System.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

(a) The commissioner of public safety must ensure deputy registrars are able to edit, at
a minimum, the following information as part of a Minnesota Licensing and Registration
System (MNLARS) transaction:

(1) personal information of the applicant;

(2) vehicle classification and information about a vehicle or trailer;
new text end
new text begin
(3) sale price of a vehicle or trailer;
new text end
new text begin
(4) the amount of taxes and fees; and

(5) the base value of a vehicle or trailer.

The ability to edit transactions must be available until the end of the business day following
the day the transaction was initially completed.

(b) For each edited transaction, MNLARS must record which individual edited the
record, the date and time the record was edited, what information was edited, and include
a notation that the transaction was edited.
