A bill for an act
relating to landlord tenant law; prohibiting local ordinances and charter
provisions that require a landlord to communicate specific information to a
tenant unless authorized by law; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota
Statutes, chapter 504B.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin Notwithstanding any ordinance or charter provision to the contrary, a statutory or
home rule charter city or county may not require a landlord to disseminate information to
a tenant unless the information is required to be disseminated by federal or state law.
