A bill for an act
relating to economic development; appropriating money for a grant to Northside
Funders Group for the North@Work program.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; NORTH@WORK.

new text begin $750,000 in fiscal year 2016 and $750,000 in fiscal year 2017 are appropriated from
the general fund to the commissioner of employment and economic development for a
grant to Northside Funders Group for the North@Work program, a strategic intervention
program designed to target and connect program participants to meaningful, sustainable
living-wage employment. By February 1, 2018, the Northside Funders Group shall report
to the commissioner and the chairs and ranking minority members of the legislative
committees having jurisdiction over economic development policy and finance on
expenditures and testing, training, and placement outcomes.
