  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to education finance; modifying a limitation 
  1.3             on the ability of the board of trustees of the 
  1.4             Minnesota state colleges and universities and 
  1.5             intermediate school districts to enter into certain 
  1.6             property agreements; amending Minnesota Statutes 2000, 
  1.7             section 136F.68.  
  1.8   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.9      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2000, section 136F.68, is 
  1.10  amended to read: 
  1.11     136F.68 [STATE PROPERTY AGREEMENTS.] 
  1.12     Notwithstanding section 16B.24, and Laws 2000, chapter 489, 
  1.13  article 11, section 6, the board may enter into an agreement 
  1.14  with an intermediate school district for the cooperative use of 
  1.15  state property for an initial period of ten years, which may be 
  1.16  renewed or extended for additional periods of up to ten years 
  1.17  each any period of time specified in the agreement. 
  1.18     [EFFECTIVE DATE.] This section is effective the day 
  1.19  following final enactment.
