  1.1                          A bill for an act
  1.2             relating to crime; appropriating money to the 
  1.3             commissioner of public safety for the bureau of 
  1.4             criminal apprehension to hire four additional 
  1.5             full-time forensic scientists. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION; PUBLIC SAFETY.] 
  1.8      $....... is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.9   commissioner of public safety for the bureau of criminal 
  1.10  apprehension to hire four additional full-time forensic 
  1.11  scientists for processing of latent fingerprint and other crime 
  1.12  scene evidence.  The addition of these forensic scientists shall 
  1.13  not displace existing staff.  This appropriation is available 
  1.14  until June 30, 1999.
