  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to data privacy; authorizing release of 
  1.3             certain arrest data to crime victims; amending 
  1.4             Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 13.82, by adding a 
  1.5             subdivision. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 13.82, is 
  1.8   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 2a.  [RELEASE OF DATA TO CRIME VICTIMS.] On receipt 
  1.10  of a written request, the law enforcement agency shall release 
  1.11  the following arrest data to the victim of a criminal act or 
  1.12  alleged criminal act or to the victim's legal representative: 
  1.13     (1) the name and address of a juvenile person alleged to 
  1.14  have committed a criminal act; and 
  1.15     (2) the name and address of the parents or guardians of the 
  1.16  alleged juvenile perpetrator.
