  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to the town of Biwabik; authorizing a 
  1.3             different election date. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [TOWN OF BIWABIK; ELECTION DATE.] 
  1.6      The governing body of the town of Biwabik may, by 
  1.7   resolution or ordinance, designate the first Tuesday after the 
  1.8   first Monday in November as the date of the town general 
  1.9   election. 
  1.10     The ordinance or resolution changing the date of the town 
  1.11  general election must include a plan to shorten or lengthen the 
  1.12  terms of office to provide an orderly transition to the November 
  1.13  election schedule. 
  1.14     The ordinance or resolution changing the date of the town 
  1.15  general election is effective upon an affirmative vote of the 
  1.16  voters of the town at the next town general election. 
  1.17     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.18     Section 1 is effective the day after the governing body of 
  1.19  the town of Biwabik complies with Minnesota Statutes, section 
  1.20  645.021, subdivision 3.
