A bill for an act
 relating to motor vehicles; allowing single license plate to be displayed vertically
on certain vehicles; amending Minnesota Statutes 2008, section 169.79,
subdivision 3.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2008, section 169.79, subdivision 3, is amended to read:


Subd. 3.

Rear display of single plate.

If the vehicle is a motorcycle, motor scooter,
motorized bicycle, motorcycle sidecar, trailer registered at greater than 3,000 pounds
gross vehicle weight (GVW), semitrailer, or vehicle displaying a dealer plate, then one
license plate must be displayed horizontallynew text begin or verticallynew text end with the identifying numbers
and letters facing outward from the vehicle and must be mounted deleted text begin in the upright positiondeleted text end
on the rear of the vehicle.
