  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to human services; allowing counties to 
  1.3             recover the cost of conducting a background study; 
  1.4             amending Minnesota Statutes 2003 Supplement, section 
  1.5             245C.10, by adding a subdivision. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2003 Supplement, section 
  1.8   245C.10, is amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 4.  [CORPORATE FOSTER CARE 
  1.10  FACILITIES.] Notwithstanding subdivision 1, counties may recover 
  1.11  the cost of background studies conducted by the county on staff 
  1.12  in corporate foster care facilities.  The fee shall be collected 
  1.13  from the corporate foster care facility where the staff employee 
  1.14  or volunteer works.
