  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to human services; changing a nursing 
  1.3             facility payment rate; amending Minnesota 2002, 
  1.4             section 256B.431, by adding a subdivision. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2002, section 256B.431, is 
  1.7   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.8      Subd. 40.  [NURSING FACILITY RATE INCREASE JULY 1, 
  1.9   2004.] For the rate year beginning on July 1, 2004, in addition 
  1.10  to any other rate adjustments provided under this section or any 
  1.11  other section, a nursing facility in Jackson County licensed for 
  1.12  48 nursing home beds on January 1, 2004, shall receive an 
  1.13  increase of $4.93 in its total payment rate for each case mix 
  1.14  class.  The increases provided under this subdivision shall be 
  1.15  included in the facility's total payment rates for the purpose 
  1.16  of determining future rates under this section or any other 
  1.17  section.
