A bill for an act
relating to education finance; qualifying specific on-site education programs
located at a care and treatment facility as learning year programs; appropriating
money.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin WILLMAR SCHOOL DISTRICT; PRAIRIE LAKES EDUCATION
CENTER AND LAKE PARK SCHOOL.

new text begin Notwithstanding any law to the contrary, the commissioner of education must
designate the on-site education programs of Prairie Lakes Education Center and the
Lake Park School, located within the borders of Independent School District No. 347,
Willmar, as state-approved alternative programs qualifying for funding under Minnesota
Statutes, section 124D.128. The approved on-site education programs must report to the
commissioner of education in the form and manner required by the commissioner and
comply with all other provisions applicable to learning year programs under Minnesota
Statutes, section 124D.128.
