A bill for an act
relating to state government; appropriating money for a grant to the Minnesota
Military Museum at Camp Ripley.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; MILITARY MUSEUM AT CAMP RIPLEY.

new text begin (a) $350,000 in fiscal year 2020 and $250,000 in fiscal year 2021 are appropriated from
the general fund to the Minnesota Historical Society for a grant to the Minnesota Military
Museum at Camp Ripley. The purpose of the grant is to:

new text begin (1) expand collections network, library and museum interpretation, and school and
community-based programming;
new text end

new text begin (2) create and conduct a statewide story-sharing program to honor the distinct service
of post 9/11 veterans in anticipation of the 2021 anniversary; and
new text end

new text begin (3) care for, catalog, and display the recently acquired collection of the personal and
professional effects belonging to General John W. Vessey, Minnesota's most decorated
veteran.

new text begin (b) This is in addition to the base funding for fiscal years 2020 and 2021. This
appropriation does not cancel and is available until expended.
