A bill for an act
relating to natural resources; temporarily prohibiting enforcement of penalties for
failure to remove ice houses.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin TEMPORARY PROHIBITION ON ENFORCING PENALTIES FOR
FAILURE TO REMOVE ICE HOUSES.

new text begin Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, section 97C.355, subdivisions 7 and 8, where ice
or snow conditions make it impractical to remove a shelter from the ice by the date required
by Minnesota Statutes, section 97C.355, subdivision 7, paragraph (a), a conservation officer
must not enforce those subdivisions by confiscating a shelter or by issuing a citation for
failure to remove a shelter.

new text begin This section is effective retroactively from March 4, 2019, and
expires on May 1, 2019. A citation that would have been prohibited by this act that is issued
on or after March 4, 2019, but before the date of final enactment, is void.
