  1.2             relating to crime prevention; prohibiting smoking by 
  1.3             inmates in correctional facilities; proposing coding 
  1.4             for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 243. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [243.555] [SMOKING BY INMATES PROHIBITED.] 
  1.7      No inmate in a state correctional facility may possess or 
  1.8   use tobacco or a tobacco-related device.  For the purposes of 
  1.9   this section, "tobacco" and "tobacco-related device" have the 
  1.10  meanings given in section 609.685, subdivision 1.
