  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to the metropolitan airports commission; 
  1.3             clarifying and expanding a limit on certain revenue 
  1.4             use for air facilities; amending Minnesota Statutes 
  1.5             1996, section 473.641, subdivision 4. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1996, section 473.641, 
  1.8   subdivision 4, is amended to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 4.  [EXPANSION OR UPGRADE OF METRO AIRPORT.] 
  1.10  Notwithstanding any other law, the metropolitan airports 
  1.11  commission shall not use revenue from any source, as described 
  1.12  by section 473.608, for planning or construction of air 
  1.13  facilities to expand or upgrade the use of an existing 
  1.14  metropolitan airport from minor use to intermediate use status 
  1.15  as defined by the metropolitan development guide, aviation 
  1.16  chapter, in effect in 1980, adopted pursuant to section 473.145.
