  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to game and fish; modifying the angling and 
  1.3             deer license provisions for disabled veterans; 
  1.4             amending Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 97A.441, 
  1.5             subdivisions 5 and 6. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 97A.441, 
  1.8   subdivision 5, is amended to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 5.  [ANGLING; DISABLED VETERANS.] A person authorized 
  1.10  to issue licenses must issue, without a fee, a permanent license 
  1.11  to take fish by angling to a resident who is a veteran, as 
  1.12  defined in section 197.447, and that has a 100 percent service 
  1.13  connected disability as defined by the United States Veterans 
  1.14  Administration upon being furnished satisfactory evidence. 
  1.15     Sec. 2.  Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 97A.441, 
  1.16  subdivision 6, is amended to read: 
  1.17     Subd. 6.  [TAKING DEER; DISABLED VETERANS.] A person 
  1.18  authorized to issue licenses must issue, without a fee, a 
  1.19  license to take deer with firearms or by archery to a resident 
  1.20  that is a veteran, as defined in section 197.447, and that has a 
  1.21  100 percent service connected disability as defined by the 
  1.22  United States Veterans Administration upon being furnished 
  1.23  satisfactory evidence.
