A bill for an act
relating to veterans; directing commissioner of veterans affairs to establish and
operate a new veterans home in the city of Montevideo.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

new text begin (a) The commissioner of veterans affairs shall establish and operate a veterans home
in the city of Montevideo. State funds must not be used for design and construction of
the home.

new text begin (b) The commissioner may accept contributions from private individuals, businesses,
and other nonstate sources for the purpose of providing matching funding when soliciting
federal funding for development of the home. The contributions may be used in designing
and constructing the home.
