  1.1                          A bill for an act
  1.2             relating to capital improvements; authorizing spending 
  1.3             to better public land and buildings and other public 
  1.4             improvements of a capital nature; providing for a 
  1.5             grant to the city of Austin for restoration of a 
  1.6             theater; authorizing issuance of bonds; appropriating 
  1.7             money. 
  1.8   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.9      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.10     $550,000 is appropriated from the bond proceeds fund to the 
  1.11  Minnesota historical society for a grant to the city of Austin 
  1.12  to restore the Historic Paramount Atmospheric Theatre upon the 
  1.13  city's acquisition of the theater, subject to the requirements 
  1.14  of Minnesota Statutes, section 16A.695.  The city may lease the 
  1.15  theater to a nonprofit organization to operate a public program 
  1.16  at the theater. 
  1.17     Sec. 2.  [BOND SALE.] 
  1.18     To provide the money appropriated in section 1 from the 
  1.19  bond proceeds fund, the commissioner of finance, on request of 
  1.20  the governor, shall sell and issue bonds of the state in an 
  1.21  amount up to $550,000 in the manner, on the terms, and with the 
  1.22  effect prescribed by Minnesota Statutes, sections 16A.631 to 
  1.23  16A.675, and by the Minnesota Constitution, article XI, sections 
  1.24  4 to 7. 
  1.25     Sec. 3.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.26     Sections 1 and 2 are effective the day following final 
  2.1   enactment.
