  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to families; providing emergency assistance 
  1.3             and transitional housing; appropriating money; 
  1.4             amending Laws 1999, chapter 205, article 4, section 
  1.5             12, subdivisions 3 and 12. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Laws 1999, chapter 205, article 4, section 12, 
  1.8   subdivision 3, is amended to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 3.  [TRANSITIONAL HOUSING PROGRAMS.] For transitional 
  1.10  housing programs according to Minnesota Statutes, section 
  1.11  119A.43: 
  1.12       $2,075,000     .....     2000
  1.13       $2,075,000 $5,785,000    .....     2001
  1.14     Of this amount, $50,000 each year is for transitional 
  1.15  housing services for homeless veterans. 
  1.16     Any balance in the first year does not cancel but is 
  1.17  available in the second year. 
  1.18     Sec. 2.  Laws 1999, chapter 205, article 4, section 12, 
  1.19  subdivision 12, is amended to read: 
  1.20     Subd. 12.  [EMERGENCY SERVICES.] For emergency services 
  1.21  grants according to Laws 1997, chapter 162, article 3, section 7:
  1.22       $350,000       .....     2000
  1.23       $350,000 $2,240,000       .....     2001
  1.24     Any balance in the first year does not cancel but is 
  1.25  available in the second year.
