  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to occupations; mandating license reciprocity 
  1.3             between local units of government for sign installers 
  1.4             in certain cases; proposing coding for new law in 
  1.5             Minnesota Statutes, chapter 326. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [326.2422] [SIGN INSTALLERS.] 
  1.8      (a) On-premise, electrical sign installers who obtain a 
  1.9   sign installers license from a local unit of government by 
  1.10  successfully completing a written exam shall have that license 
  1.11  honored by all other local units of government. 
  1.12     (b) On-premise, electrical sign installers who obtain a 
  1.13  sign installers license from a local unit of government that 
  1.14  does not require a written exam shall have that license honored 
  1.15  by all other local units of government that do not require exams.
  1.16     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.17     Section 1 is effective on the day following final enactment.
