  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to state facilities; limiting fees charged 
  1.3             state employees for parking facilities in certain 
  1.4             circumstances; amending Minnesota Statutes 1994, 
  1.5             section 16B.58, subdivision 8. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 16B.58, 
  1.8   subdivision 8, is amended to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 8.  [FEES CHARGED STATE EMPLOYEES.] Notwithstanding 
  1.10  any other law to the contrary, the commissioner shall charge 
  1.11  state employees for parking facilities which that are used by 
  1.12  them and furnished for their exclusive use pursuant to any under 
  1.13  a lease entered into between the state of Minnesota and the 
  1.14  lessor of any privately owned property situated in the seven 
  1.15  county metropolitan area as defined by section 473.121, 
  1.16  subdivision 2.  The amount charged an employee under this 
  1.17  subdivision may not exceed the amount charged by the 
  1.18  commissioner for the use of a comparable state-owned parking 
  1.19  facility in the capitol area as defined by section 15.50, 
  1.20  subdivision 2.
