  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to child care; appropriating money for the 
  1.3             basic sliding fee child care program. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.6      $15,000,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.7   commissioner of children, families, and learning for purposes of 
  1.8   increasing the funding to the basic sliding fee child care 
  1.9   program under Minnesota Statutes, section 256H.03, to be 
  1.10  available for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1997.  This 
  1.11  appropriation shall become part of the base appropriation for 
  1.12  the biennium ending June 30, 1999.
