  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to Hennepin county; permitting the county 
  1.3             board to approve appointment of an employee of the 
  1.4             animal humane society of Hennepin county as a peace 
  1.5             officer. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section. 1. [HUMANE SOCIETY EMPLOYEE AS PEACE OFFICER.] 
  1.8      The Hennepin county board may approve the appointment as a 
  1.9   peace officer of an employee of the animal humane society of 
  1.10  Hennepin county who is eligible to be licensed as a peace 
  1.11  officer. 
  1.12     The appointment may be made on the terms and conditions the 
  1.13  board directs. 
  1.14     Sec. 2.  [LOCAL APPROVAL.] 
  1.15     Section 1 is effective the day after the Hennepin county 
  1.16  board and its chief clerical officer comply with Minnesota 
  1.17  Statutes, section 645.021, subdivision 3.
