  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to appropriations; funding construction of a 
  1.3             public safety radio system in southeastern Minnesota. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [SOUTHEASTERN MINNESOTA PUBLIC SAFETY RADIO 
  1.6   SYSTEM; APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.7      $5,000,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the 
  1.8   commissioner of transportation for construction of a pilot 
  1.9   project public safety radio system in southeastern Minnesota.  
  1.10  This appropriation must be matched with $1,000,000 in funding 
  1.11  received by the state from the federal Community Oriented 
  1.12  Policing Services Technology Program to improve law enforcement 
  1.13  communications in rural Minnesota.  The appropriation is 
  1.14  available until spent. 
  1.15     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.16     This act is effective the day following final enactment.
