relating to flood control; creating a demonstration
project; appropriating money.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION.

new text begin (a) $15,000 is appropriated from the general fund to the
commissioner of natural resources for a grant to the Mower
County Soil and Water Conservation District to create a small
pond demonstration project in the Cedar River Watershed for
purposes of water retention and flood control.

new text begin (b) The Mower County Soil and Water Conservation District
must seek other sources of funding, including federal and
private sources, to ensure that the demonstration project in
paragraph (a) is educational and complete.

Sec. 2. new text begin EFFECTIVE DATE.
