  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to human services; providing a spouse asset 
  1.3             allowance for the alternative care program; amending 
  1.4             Minnesota Statutes 1996, section 256B.0913, 
  1.5             subdivision 3.  
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1996, section 256B.0913, 
  1.8   subdivision 3, is amended to read: 
  1.9      Subd. 3.  [ELIGIBILITY FOR FUNDING FOR SERVICES FOR MEDICAL 
  1.10  ASSISTANCE RECIPIENTS.] (a) Funding for services for persons who 
  1.11  are eligible for medical assistance is available under section 
  1.12  256B.0627, governing home care services, or 256B.0915, governing 
  1.13  the Medicaid waiver for home and community-based services. 
  1.14     (b) Treatment of assets when a spouse is receiving services 
  1.15  under the alternative care program is determined according to 
  1.16  section 256B.059.
