  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to human services; requiring the Department 
  1.3             of Human Services to contract for a review of 
  1.4             fee-for-service medical assistance and general 
  1.5             assistance medical care payments for inpatient 
  1.6             hospital services.  
  1.7   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.8      Section 1.  [REVIEW OF MEDICAL ASSISTANCE AND GENERAL 
  1.9   ASSISTANCE MEDICAL CARE PAYMENTS FOR INPATIENT HOSPITAL 
  1.10  SERVICES.] 
  1.11     The commissioner of human services shall contract with a 
  1.12  vendor to implement a review of medical assistance and general 
  1.13  assistance medical care fee-for-service payments for inpatient 
  1.14  hospital services to determine whether improper payments have 
  1.15  been made due to coding or clerical errors.  Payment to the 
  1.16  vendor shall be based on a negotiated percentage of any 
  1.17  overpayment identified and collected by the state.
