  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to human services; extending approval for 
  1.3             completion of a nursing home licensure and 
  1.4             certification moratorium exception project. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [APPROVAL EXTENDED.] 
  1.7      Minnesota Statutes, section 144A.073, subdivision 3, 
  1.8   notwithstanding, the commissioner of health shall grant an 
  1.9   additional 18 months of approval for a proposed exception to the 
  1.10  nursing home licensure and certification moratorium, if the 
  1.11  proposal is to replace a 96-bed nursing home facility in Carlton 
  1.12  county and if initial approval for the proposal was granted in 
  1.13  November 1996. 
  1.14     Sec. 2.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  1.15     Section 1 is effective the day following final enactment.
