A bill for an act
relating to state government; requiring certain reports to the attorney general and
legislature by recipients of state-funded grants; amending Minnesota Statutes 2022,
section 16B.98, by adding a subdivision.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2022, section 16B.98, is amended by adding a subdivision
to read:

new text begin A granting agency must
include in a grant agreement a requirement that the grantee submit an annual report to the
attorney general and to the chairs and ranking minority members of the legislative committees
with jurisdiction over the granting agency. The annual report must detail the total amount
of the grant awarded to the grantee, how the grant was used, and must include a copy of the
grantee's most recent IRS form 990. The granting agency must provide the grantee with
information on how to properly deliver the reports required by this subdivision.
