relating to human services; appropriating money for emergency shelters.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1. new text begin APPROPRIATION; EMERGENCY SHELTERS.

new text begin $25,000,000 in fiscal year 2022 is appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner
of human services for short-term housing facilities to increase the supply and improve the
condition of shelters for individuals and families without a permanent residence. The
commissioner shall ensure that a portion of the funds are expended to provide for short-term
housing facilities for tribes. This appropriation is available until June 30, 2026.
