  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to the housing finance agency; appropriating 
  1.3             money. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.6      Subdivision 1.  [AFFORDABLE RENTAL INVESTMENT 
  1.7   FUND.] $17,000,000 in fiscal year 2000 and $17,000,000 in fiscal 
  1.8   year 2001 are appropriated from the general fund for transfer to 
  1.9   the housing development fund for the affordable rental 
  1.10  investment fund program under Minnesota Statutes, section 
  1.11  462A.21, subdivision 8b.  To the extent practicable, this 
  1.12  appropriation shall be used so that an approximately equal 
  1.13  number of housing units are financed in the metropolitan area as 
  1.14  defined in Minnesota Statutes, section 473.121, subdivision 2, 
  1.15  as are financed in nonmetropolitan areas. 
  1.16     Subd. 2.  [COMMUNITY REHABILITATION FUND.] $15,000,000 in 
  1.17  fiscal year 2000 and $15,000,000 in fiscal year 2001 are 
  1.18  appropriated from the general fund for transfer to the housing 
  1.19  development fund for the community rehabilitation fund program 
  1.20  under Minnesota Statutes, section 462A.206. 
  1.21     Subd. 3.  [HOUSING TRUST FUND.] $5,000,000 in fiscal year 
  1.22  2000 and $5,000,000 in fiscal year 2001 are appropriated from 
  1.23  the general fund for transfer to the housing development fund 
  1.24  for the housing trust fund program under Minnesota Statutes, 
  2.1   section 462A.201. 
  2.2      Subd. 4.  [TRANSFERS.] Money appropriated under this 
  2.3   section may be transferred among the affordable rental 
  2.4   investment fund, the community rehabilitation fund, and housing 
  2.5   trust fund programs.
