A bill for an act
relating to early childhood; providing state supplemental funding for the child
and adult care food program; appropriating money; proposing coding for new
law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 124D.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin Purpose; program eligibility. new text end

new text begin The purpose of the state
supplementary child and adult care food program is to support healthy meals for children
and adults participating in the child and adult care food program. A child or adult who
qualifies for a federally subsidized lunch or supper under this program is eligible for state
aid according to subdivision 2.

new text begin State aid amount. new text end

new text begin Each year, the state must pay child care sponsoring
organizations for participants in the child and adult care food program the amount of
ten cents for each qualified lunch or supper served to be distributed to the provider. A
qualifying lunch or supper is a tier I or tier II meal that is partially reimbursed by the
federal government.
