A bill for an act
relating to state government; establishing funding in the event no agreement is
reached on funding state government operations; proposing coding for new law
in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 16A.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin [16A.117] CONTINUING APPROPRIATION.

new text begin In the event that an appropriation needed to fund any state government operation
is not enacted into law by June 30 of an odd-numbered year, funding for that state
government operation shall continue in the next and subsequent fiscal year at 80 percent of
the level of the appropriation for that state government operation in the preceding fiscal
year or until another appropriation is enacted into law. An appropriation that is designated
as onetime or is onetime in nature is eliminated by law at the end of the fiscal year for
which it was designated.
