A bill for an act
 relating to economic development; removing the municipal appropriation cap on
contributions to regional or local organizations; amending Minnesota Statutes
2012, section 469.191.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

Minnesota Statutes 2012, section 469.191, is amended to read:


469.191 CONTRIBUTIONS TO REGIONAL OR LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS.

A home rule or statutory city or town described in section 368.01, subdivision 1 or
1a, may appropriate deleted text begin not more than $50,000 annuallydeleted text end new text begin fundsnew text end out of the general revenue fund
of the jurisdiction to be paid to any incorporated development society or organization
of this state for promoting, advertising, improving, or developing the economic and
agricultural resources of the city or town.
