  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to state procurement; authorizing the 
  1.3             commissioner to enter into agreements to acquire 
  1.4             cooling services; amending Minnesota Statutes 2000, 
  1.5             section 16C.22. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 2000, section 16C.22, is 
  1.8   amended to read: 
  1.9      16C.22 [DISTRICT HEATING AND COOLING.] 
  1.10     Notwithstanding any other law, general or special, the 
  1.11  commissioner is authorized to enter into or approve a written 
  1.12  agreement not to exceed 31 years with a district heating or 
  1.13  cooling utility that will specify, but not be limited to, the 
  1.14  appropriate terms and conditions for the interchange of district 
  1.15  heating or cooling services. 
  1.16     [EFFECTIVE DATE.] This section is effective May 1, 2001.
