  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to state lands; authorizing the public and 
  1.3             private sales of certain state lands in Aitkin County. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [PUBLIC SALE OF TAX-FORFEITED LAND BORDERING 
  1.6   PUBLIC WATER; AITKIN COUNTY.] 
  1.7      (a) Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, sections 92.45 and 
  1.8   282.018, subdivision 1, Aitkin County may sell the tax-forfeited 
  1.9   land bordering public water that is described in paragraph (c), 
  1.10  under the remaining provisions of Minnesota Statutes, chapter 
  1.11  282. 
  1.12     (b) The conveyance must be in a form approved by the 
  1.13  attorney general. 
  1.14     (c) The land to be sold is located in Aitkin County and is 
  1.15  described as:  the East 400 feet of the West 1,150 feet of 
  1.16  Government Lot 7, Section 3, Township 51, Range 23 (PIN 
  1.17  #06-0-005200). 
  1.18     (d) The land is not needed for public access to Blackface 
  1.19  Lake and the county has determined that the county's land 
  1.20  management interests would best be served if the land was 
  1.21  returned to private ownership. 
  1.22     Sec. 2.  [PRIVATE SALE OF TAX-FORFEITED LAND; AITKIN 
  1.23  COUNTY.] 
  1.24     (a) Notwithstanding the public sale provisions of Minnesota 
  2.1   Statutes, chapter 282, Aitkin County may sell by private sale 
  2.2   the tax-forfeited land that is described in paragraph (c), under 
  2.3   the remaining provisions of Minnesota Statutes, chapter 282. 
  2.4      (b) The conveyance must be in a form approved by the 
  2.5   attorney general for consideration no less than the appraised 
  2.6   value of the land. 
  2.7      (c) The land to be sold is in Aitkin County and is 
  2.8   described as:  the 208 feet by 208 feet in Government Lot 3, as 
  2.9   in Document #176374, Section 33, Township 45, Range 27 (PIN 
  2.10  #11-0-074000). 
  2.11     (d) This sale will resolve a county individual land use 
  2.12  issue and the county has determined that the county's land 
  2.13  management interests would best be served if the land was 
  2.14  returned to private ownership. 
  2.15     Sec. 3.  [CONVEYANCE OF CONSOLIDATED CONSERVATION LAND; 
  2.16  AITKIN COUNTY.] 
  2.17     (a) Notwithstanding the classification and public sale 
  2.18  provisions of Minnesota Statutes, chapters 84A and 282, the 
  2.19  commissioner of natural resources may sell to Shamrock Township 
  2.20  the consolidated conservation land that is described in 
  2.21  paragraph (c), under the remaining provisions of Minnesota 
  2.22  Statutes, chapters 84A and 282. 
  2.23     (b) The conveyance must be in a form approved by the 
  2.24  attorney general and must provide that the land reverts to the 
  2.25  state if it is not used for township purposes.  The attorney 
  2.26  general may make necessary changes in the legal description to 
  2.27  correct errors and ensure accuracy.  The consideration for the 
  2.28  conveyance must not be less than the appraised value of the land 
  2.29  and timber and survey costs.  Proceeds shall be disposed of 
  2.30  according to Minnesota Statutes, chapter 84A. 
  2.31     (c) The land to be sold is located in Aitkin County and is 
  2.32  described as:  that part of the Southeast Quarter of the 
  2.33  Southeast Quarter lying north of the township road in Section 9, 
  2.34  Township 49, Range 23. 
  2.35     (d) The land is not needed for state natural resources 
  2.36  purposes.
