A bill for an act
relating to health; providing immunity from liability for volunteer dentists under
certain circumstances; proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes,
chapter 604A.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

new text begin A dentist licensed under chapter 150A who satisfies the criteria to be classified
as a critical access dental provider by the commissioner of human services under
section 256B.76, subdivision 4, and who, without compensation or the expectation of
compensation, provides dental care is not liable for any civil damages as a result of acts or
omissions by that dentist in rendering the dental care, unless the person acts in a willful
and wanton or reckless manner in providing the care or acts outside the scope of practice
as determined by the Board of Dentistry pursuant to chapter 150A.
