  1.1                          A bill for an act
  1.2             relating to state lands; authorizing the sale of 
  1.3             undivided partial interests in certain parcels of 
  1.4             tax-forfeited land that border public waters in Cook 
  1.5             county. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [PUBLIC SALE OF TAX-FORFEITED LAND BORDERING ON 
  1.8   PUBLIC WATERS; COOK COUNTY.] 
  1.9      (a) Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, sections 92.45 and 
  1.10  282.018, subdivision 1, Cook county may sell the tax-forfeited 
  1.11  lands bordering public waters that are described in paragraph 
  1.12  (c).  
  1.13     (b) The conveyances must be in a form approved by the 
  1.14  attorney general. 
  1.15     (c) The parcels of land that may be conveyed are located in 
  1.16  Cook county and are described as: 
  1.17     (1) an undivided 1/3 interest in Government Lot 5, Section 
  1.18  28, Township 63 North, Range 1 East, containing approximately 
  1.19  14.08 acres; and 
  1.20     (2) an undivided 1/4 interest in the South one-half of the 
  1.21  SW 1/4, the NW 1/4 of the SW 1/4, and Government Lot 4, Section 
  1.22  23, Township 63 North, Range 4 East. 
  1.23     (d) The county has determined that the county's land 
  1.24  management interests would best be served if the lands were sold.
  1.25     Sec. 2.  [PRIVATE SALE ALTERNATIVE.] 
  2.1      Notwithstanding Minnesota Statutes, sections 92.45 and 
  2.2   282.018, and the public sale provisions of Minnesota Statutes, 
  2.3   chapter 282, Cook county may sell by private sale the land 
  2.4   described in section 1, paragraph (c), under the remaining 
  2.5   provisions of Minnesota Statutes, chapter 282. 
  2.6      Sec. 3.  [EFFECTIVE DATE.] 
  2.7      This act is effective the day following final enactment.
