  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to civil actions; making evidence relating to 
  1.3             seatbelts admissible in litigation; amending Minnesota 
  1.4             Statutes 1994, section 169.685, subdivision 4. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 169.685, 
  1.7   subdivision 4, is amended to read: 
  1.8      Subd. 4.  [ADMISSIBILITY INTO EVIDENCE.] Proof of the use 
  1.9   or failure to use seat belts or a child passenger restraint 
  1.10  system as described in subdivision 5, or proof of the 
  1.11  installation or failure of installation of seat belts or a child 
  1.12  passenger restraint system as described in subdivision 5 shall 
  1.13  not be admissible in evidence in any litigation involving 
  1.14  personal injuries or property damage resulting from the use or 
  1.15  operation of any motor vehicle.
