  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to elections; providing for nonbinding ballot 
  1.3             questions; amending Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 
  1.4             204D.15, by adding a subdivision. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 204D.15, is 
  1.7   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.8      Subd. 1a.  [NONBINDING BALLOT QUESTIONS.] The secretary of 
  1.9   state shall place nonbinding questions on the pink ballot after 
  1.10  all proposed constitutional amendments.  Only those nonbinding 
  1.11  questions that are approved by a majority of both houses of the 
  1.12  legislature and the governor may be placed on the ballot.
