  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to the environment; prohibiting disposal of 
  1.3             corrugated paper products; proposing coding for new 
  1.4             law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 115A. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [115A.9512] [CORRUGATED PAPER PRODUCTS.] 
  1.7      Subdivision 1.  [DEFINITION.] For the purpose of this 
  1.8   section, "corrugated paper products" means boxes, containers, 
  1.9   liners, sheets, or other products made from corrugated paper.  
  1.10     Subd. 2.  [PROHIBITION.] Beginning January 1, 1996, a 
  1.11  person may not place any corrugated paper product: 
  1.12     (1) in solid waste; 
  1.13     (2) in a disposal facility; or 
  1.14     (3) in a resource recovery facility, except a recycling 
  1.15  facility. 
  1.16     Subd. 3.  [EXCEPTION.] A person may dispose of a corrugated 
  1.17  paper product at a resource recovery facility that is composting 
  1.18  waste, burning waste, converting waste to energy, or making 
  1.19  materials for combustion if no recycling facility in Minnesota 
  1.20  will accept the corrugated paper product.
