  1.2             relating to credit unions; regulating the use of the 
  1.3             words "credit union"; prescribing a penalty; amending 
  1.4             Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 52.03, subdivision 1. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 52.03, 
  1.7   subdivision 1, is amended to read: 
  1.8      Subdivision 1.  [PENALTY.] Except as provided in 
  1.9   subdivision 2, it shall be a misdemeanor for any person, 
  1.10  association, copartnership, limited liability company, or 
  1.11  corporation, except corporations organized in accordance with 
  1.12  the provisions of this chapter, to use the words "credit union" 
  1.13  in their name or title.
