  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to Washington county; authorizing the county 
  1.3             to impose a levy to provide funds for the activities 
  1.4             of the county housing and redevelopment authority. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  [WASHINGTON COUNTY; LEVY TO FUND THE COUNTY 
  1.7   HOUSING AND REDEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY.] 
  1.8      In addition to all other levies authorized by law, 
  1.9   Washington county may levy an amount not to exceed $20,000,000 
  1.10  in 1997 for taxes payable in 1998 only, and transfer the 
  1.11  proceeds of the levy to the Washington county housing and 
  1.12  redevelopment authority to be used to support the activities of 
  1.13  the authority in the city of Landfall. 
  1.14     Sec. 2.  [LOCAL APPROVAL.] 
  1.15     This act is effective upon approval by the governing body 
  1.16  of Washington county and compliance with Minnesota Statutes, 
  1.17  section 645.021, subdivision 3.
