1.1 A bill for an act 1.2 proposing an amendment to the Minnesota Constitution, 1.3 article XIII, section 3; repealing the constitutional 1.4 autonomy of the University of Minnesota. 1.5 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.6 Section 1. [CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT PROPOSED.] 1.7 An amendment to the Minnesota Constitution, article XIII, 1.8 section 3, is proposed to the people. If the amendment is 1.9 adopted, the section will read as follows: 1.10Sec. 3. [UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA.] All the rights,1.11immunities, franchises and endowments heretofore granted or1.12conferred upon the university of Minnesota are perpetuated unto1.13the university.1.14 Sec. 2. [SUBMISSION TO VOTERS.] 1.15 The proposed amendment must be submitted to the people at 1.16 the 1996 general election. The question submitted shall be: 1.17 "Shall the Minnesota Constitution be amended to repeal the 1.18 constitutional autonomy of the University of Minnesota? 1.19 Yes ....... 1.20 No ......."
