A bill for an act
relating to higher education; requesting the Board of Regents of the University of
Minnesota provide embedded mental health counselors; appropriating money;
proposing coding for new law in Minnesota Statutes, chapter 137.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:

Section 1.

UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA.

new text begin It is requested that the Board of Regents of the University of Minnesota provide embedded
counseling services in each undergraduate college or school in the University of Minnesota
system. This type of mental health model, known as the embedded model, places mental
health counselors inside the schools allowing the counselor to address the specific and
unique needs of the students in the respective colleges and tailor services and consultation
to each college or school.
