  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to game and fish; term of short-term 
  1.3             licenses; amending Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 
  1.4             97A.411, subdivision 1. 
  1.5   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.6      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1994, section 97A.411, 
  1.7   subdivision 1, is amended to read: 
  1.8      Subdivision 1.  [LICENSE PERIOD.] A license is valid during 
  1.9   the lawful time within the license year that the licensed 
  1.10  activity may be performed.  A license year begins on the first 
  1.11  day of March and ends on the last day of February. 
  1.12  Notwithstanding this subdivision, a license issued for a term of 
  1.13  less than a license year is valid for the stated term, even 
  1.14  though the term extends beyond the end of the license year.
