  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to human services; authorizing a grant for a 
  1.3             residential rehabilitative program for chemically 
  1.4             dependent women leaving prostitution; appropriating 
  1.5             money. 
  1.6   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.7      Section 1.  [GRANT AUTHORIZED; RESIDENTIAL PROGRAMS FOR 
  1.8   WOMEN LEAVING PROSTITUTION.] 
  1.9      The commissioner of public safety in consultation with the 
  1.10  commissioner of human services shall award a grant of 
  1.11  continuation funding to the Volunteers of America Women's 
  1.12  Recovery Center to administer a residential program for women 
  1.13  leaving prostitution.  Residential program services include, but 
  1.14  are not limited to, on-site chemical dependency services, 
  1.15  on-site sexual trauma mental health services, and on-site 
  1.16  independent living skills preparation, including living skills 
  1.17  development and coordination of community resources for personal 
  1.18  and family stability and success. 
  1.19     Sec. 2.  [APPROPRIATIONS; DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY.] 
  1.20     $.......  for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2002, and 
  1.21  $.......  for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2003, are 
  1.22  appropriated from the general fund to the commissioner of public 
  1.23  safety to be used to award a grant under section 1.
