  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to children; transferring funds from the 
  1.3             federal TANF block grant to the child care block grant.
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [TRANSFER OF FUNDS.] 
  1.6      $50,000,000 is transferred in the fiscal year ending June 
  1.7   30, 2000, and $50,000,000 is transferred in the fiscal year 
  1.8   ending June 30, 2001, from the federal TANF block grant to the 
  1.9   state child care and development fund for the purposes of child 
  1.10  care assistance under the basic sliding fee program.  
  1.11     The unexpended balance in the first year does not cancel 
  1.12  but is available for the second year.
