  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to corrections; providing that private 
  1.3             facilities licensed to provide long-term residential 
  1.4             secure programming are not subject to the 100-bed 
  1.5             statewide maximum; amending Minnesota Statutes 1996, 
  1.6             section 242.32, by adding a subdivision. 
  1.7   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.8      Section 1.  Minnesota Statutes 1996, section 242.32, is 
  1.9   amended by adding a subdivision to read: 
  1.10     Subd. 4.  [EXCEPTION.] This section does not apply to a 
  1.11  privately operated facility licensed by the commissioner in Rock 
  1.12  county, Minnesota.  The number of beds constructed and operated 
  1.13  by this facility for long-term residential secure programming 
  1.14  does not count towards the 100-bed limitation in subdivision 3.
