  1.1                          A bill for an act 
  1.2             relating to economic development; appropriating money 
  1.3             for the north metro I-35W corridor coalition. 
  1.4   BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 
  1.5      Section 1.  [APPROPRIATION.] 
  1.6      $100,000 in fiscal year 1998 and $100,000 in fiscal year 
  1.7   1999 are appropriated to the department of trade and economic 
  1.8   development for grants to the city of New Brighton, the project 
  1.9   coordinator and fiscal agent of the seven-city coalition, for 
  1.10  the multicommunity business retention and market expansion 
  1.11  project and related planning efforts linking geographical 
  1.12  information systems, contaminated land remediation, land use 
  1.13  planning, transportation corridor study, integration of existing 
  1.14  housing stock, subregional transit and reverse commute 
  1.15  coordination, employment densities, job training and welfare 
  1.16  reform placement coordination, and commercial and industrial 
  1.17  development.  The coalition shall share all results and written 
  1.18  reports with the department of trade and economic development.
